Day 01: Bagdogra – Gangtok 125 kms (5 hours approx).

Assistance at the airport/railway station on arrival and drive to Gangtok.

GANGTOK:

At an altitude of 1750m, the downtown area is dominated by huge government buildings decorated with traditional Buddhist symbols. Gangtok is also a resting ground for people traveling to North Sikkim. Surrounded by Monasteries and Orchids, Gangtok is truly a travellers delight.

Later proceed for half day sightseeing in Gangtok visiting Flower Show, Do Drul Chorten, Institute of Tibetology (closed on Sunday), Cottage Industry(closed on Sunday) and Bakthang Falls. Overnight at hotel.

                   

Day 02: Gangtok - Changu Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion

 

Breakfast at the hotel and full day excursion to Changu Lake which is 35 Kms from Gangtok at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake derives its waters from melting snows off the surrounding mountains Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the lake’s waters. Also visit New Baba Mandir Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Gangtok - Lachung (110 Kms 6 Hours Approx)

After breakfast, you would be picked-up from the hotel at 9 am and would be driven to Lachung, enroute visit waterfalls. The uphill 7 hour journey takes you to the height of 8610 ft. After reaching the hotel in Lachung, spend the evening by relaxing at the hotel.Enjoy dinner and a comfortable stay at the hotel.

 

Day 04: Yumthang Valley Excursion – Gangtok

After breakfast, proceed for a half-day excursion to Yumthang Valley. You would leave from the hotel at around 9am, and it would take around 1.5 hours to travel from Lachung to Yumthang. Yumthang Valley is famous for the beautiful flowers beds, especially the Rhododendron flowers, which are available in full bloom and in a variety of colours between the months of March to May. The valley also provides the glorious view of the mountains and the river.

You would also be visiting the Hot Spring where you would find typical Himalayan flowers, hot springs and snow covered mountains.

Later leave for Gangtok. In the evening, you would return to Gangtok and check-in at the hotel, and you would have rest of the evening at leisure. Relish the dinner before retiring to the bed.

 

Day 05: Gangtok - Darjeeling (100Kms 4 Hours Approx)

Breakfast at the hotel and drive to Darjeeling.


DARJEELING:

Standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2134m, ‘Dorje Ling’, or place of the Thunderbolt, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the “Queen of the Hills”, it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. Surrounded by World Famous Tea Gardens and snow capped mountains, Darjeeling remains one of the most exotic destinations. Graeme Westlake in his book ‘An introduction to hill stations on India’ refers to Darjeeling as having “A view Scarcely Unrivalled on Earth”. Overnight at hotel.

 

Day 06 – Darjeeling City tour

Early morning at around 04:00 AM drive to 8000 feet / 2440 meters Tiger Hill to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather) – On the way back visit Ghoul Monastery & Batasia Loop, after visit transfer back to hotel for breakfast,  After breakfast you will be visiting the places like - Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday),  Tensing/ Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Garden (panoramic view), evening free to stroll around the market, Overnight stay at Darjeeling

 

Day 07 – Darjeeling - Bagdogra Airport (85 Kms / 4 hrs approx)

After breakfast at your proceed to Bagdogra Airport to board flight for your hometown,
